Fake photo

A fake image created by Artificial Intelligence that claims to show European leaders sitting in a row at the White House has been viewed millions of times.

"European leaders are sitting in the corridor, awaiting their meeting with Trump," the Nexta social media account said in X alongside the image - before issuing a correction that "the photo is reportedly fake and generated by Artificial Intelligence."

Donald Trump Jr. also posted it to his 9.7 million Instagram followers.

The image shows seven people sitting in a row, from the outside - the closest person bears a resemblance to French President Emmanuel Macron.

The chair next to him, however, has a pair of legs, but no torso or head.

Three women are in the photo, but there were only two women in the group sitting around the table with Trump.

And they are wearing different outfits from those that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and EU chief Ursula von der Leyen wore in their meeting with the US president.

Despite this, the image has been widely shared (including in Albania) with comments including: "Humiliated and insulted in the White House hallway. Waiting for the Lord."
