Instagram will also become like TikTok

Instagram has begun experimenting with the center's vertical supplies with full screen, giving greater priority to 9:16 videos and photos.

In the trial update that some users have started to see when they open the app, subtitles, comments and likes will appear in any image or video that will now cover the entire screen.

Stories, notifications, a new post button and messages will remain the same for the time being, while each user's 'reels', purchases and profile will be accessible from the bottom of the screen.

The change does not surprise anyone, the app in the past has tried to encourage creators to use 'coils', i.e. short videos, rewarding those who turned out to be the most successful with a cash prize.

Therefore, the algorithm "punishes" users who republish videos from TikTok, with the logic that the company wants to reward the original content.

It has not gone unnoticed by platform users that the new update makes Instagram look more like TikTok, both in appearance and because of the emphasis on videos.

Although this is the strategy the company wants to follow, many platform users have started to get upset saying they do not need another TikTok
