Princess Leonor is now 18 years old and ready - now legally - to stand as regent, alongside her father, King Felipe of Spain.
From her mother she inherited the aristocratic charm. From the father, kindness and devotion to the royal crown. About a month ago, on her birthday, she swore allegiance to Spain's Constitution, taking to the stage of Madrid's Parliament, in a modest and formal ceremony that was clearly far from the typical birthday of the average European teenager passing through in the adult world.

With her deep, seductive and lightly tinted gaze fixed constantly on her father and dressed in an elegant all-white suit, Leonor easily turned all the photographers' flashes on her, eclipsing even her ever-present mother. the elegant and wonderful Leticia as well as the cute, 16-year-old sister Infanta Sofia.
It was her day and this and the royal family of Spain not only respected it, but also took care to make it clear throughout the country. "On this very important day", she declared during her speech addressing the Spanish citizens, "I ask you to trust me, as I have placed all my trust in our future, in the future of Spain".
When Leonor ascends the Spanish throne, she will be the country's first queen in 150 years.

Who is Princess Leonor?
But this is not the first time that Princess Leonor has stood in public, in front of a crowd, giving a speech. Already the royal circles of the Spanish palace had prepared her for this moment, since the age of 14 when she addressed the audience of the "Princess of Asturias Award", a special ceremony dedicated to artists' awards, causing the Spanish media to coin the term " Leonormani".
While at the age of 15, again on her birthday, addressing the Spanish public for the first time, she declared: "If there is something that my sister Sofia and I have learned, it is the sense of responsibility. Our parents have always taught us this. And I think the young people of my generation know that too. A sense of responsibility that comes from never forgetting the people around us, those who love us and those we love". Since then, she has spoken several times in public, sometimes in English and sometimes in Spanish and Catalan.

But who is the beautiful young princess who has captured the hearts of the Spaniards and whom the cameras adore?
She was born on October 31, 2005. She followed the informal royal protocol of educating members of the royal family, from the first years of school (she went to a kindergarten for members of the Spanish royal guard) and later began to study at the same private school in Madrid where her father, Felipe, also went.
A few years later he moved to Wales to attend courses at UWC Atlantic College, from which he graduated just this May. As part of her academic education, she also took courses such as Tai Chi and "Introduction to Tibetan Literature". Her friends speak of a girl with an endless sense of humor, while teachers speak of a student with a passion for learning and exploring her perspectives, but also a deep understanding of the people around her.

This August, she enrolled at Zaragoza's General Military Academy – where she began her three-year training – as she will one day succeed her father as commander-in-chief of the armed forces. Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles told CNN: "This shows that we will have, when the time comes, a supreme commander who will be a woman. And in recent years we have made a very significant effort for the integration of women in the Armed Forces".

But her dreams are not limited to that, as she has expressed that she wants to continue her studies, following the branch of law.
There is no news from her private life.
