Actor Kevin Spacey has revealed that he is living on the move and is trying to wait for an opportunity to return after the sex scandal that sidelined him from Hollywood for almost a decade.

In a lengthy interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph, 66-year-old Spacey said his financial situation is "not good" and that he currently lives in hotels and Airbnbs, going wherever there is work.

"I just don't have a house, that's what I'm trying to say," he said, after losing his Baltimore home to foreclosure.

Spacey spoke during the interview while singing standards in a nightclub in Cyprus, far from the lights of Hollywood, where he was once one of the biggest names in the industry.

He has been persona non grata in Tinseltown since 2017, when actor Anthony Rapp told BuzzFeed that Spacey sexually assaulted him in 1986, when Spacey was 26 and Rapp was just 14. A civil jury found Spacey-Rapp guilty, but the charges brought up other allegations of misconduct. Spacey has admitted to being "very physically close" and touching someone in a sexual manner without knowing at the time that they didn't want to.

In the interview with The Telegraph, Spacey compared himself to writers who were involved in the "red scare" period and Hollywood blacklists, hoping that a powerful ally could help him return to the stage, as Kirk Douglas did for writer Dalton Trumbo.

Spacey was on the Netflix series "House of Cards" when Rapp made the allegations, and was later fired from the show after further allegations of inappropriate behavior. He has struggled to find high-profile roles since then.

The actor said that only a phone call from a great talent, like Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino, could bring him back to the stage.

"I would be extremely honored and delighted when such a high level of talent picks up the phone," Spacey said, adding that he believes this moment and vindication will come.

No criminal or civil court has ever found Spacey guilty of sexual assault. A criminal court in London on July 23, 2023 found Spacey not guilty of sexual assault against four men. Similarly, a prosecutor in Massachusetts on July 17, 2019, declined to file a case against him after the accuser alleged sexual assault, but the evidence was lost on his equipment.

The newspaper reported that a Spacey fan at his show in Cyprus was unfazed by the allegations.

"He was found not guilty! Isn't that enough?" he said.
