On Tuesday, September 3, 2025, millions of users around the world experienced serious problems accessing ChatGPT, OpenAI's virtual assistant, which relies on artificial intelligence. The outage, confirmed by the company itself on its official website, triggered a wave of reports from international users.

According to Downdetector and major news outlets, the problems included lack of responses, loading errors, and unexpected crashes.

OpenAI has yet to issue an official press release, but has updated its official status page, acknowledging the service outage and indicating that it is currently investigating the problem.

The company has launched an investigation to identify the cause, which may be related to the widespread deployment of the new GPT-5 model, which is currently spreading rapidly globally.

The company assured users that its technical team is working to restore full functionality as soon as possible. However, no specific timeline for a resolution has been given at this time.
