Apple announced that due to U.S. sanctions it would remove or limit a range of services it offers to its customers in Russia.
The first service to be disabled was that of real-time traffic on Apple Maps, while massive restrictions on the online payment service, Apple Pay, which is used extensively by russians, have begun.
The company also said it has suspended sending new equipment to Russia, and the decision has reasoned with the uncertainty that this market currently has.
Meanwhile, Russian media apps Russia Today and Sputnik were removed from the AppStore, while the country's banks have warned citizens that a range of services they performed through their online apps will be closed.
