His eyes are downcast, the corners of his mouth turned down...
Prince Harry's face speaks volumes as his car drives up to Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
The Duke of Sussex arrived at his grandmother's deathbed just after 9pm, an hour and a half after the palace announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
In the afternoon, Elizabeth's dearest nephew flew from London to Aberdeen to be with his family during this difficult time. But Harry was too late.
He missed the moment when the Queen breathed her last and his father became King Charles III at Balmoral. According to the Daily Mail, his brother William, scandal-hit uncle Andrew and Prince Edward arrived before Harry, but again too late to say goodbye in person.

Only Charles and Princess Anne accompanied the Queen in the final minutes.
At 19:300, the palace announced that Elizabeth passed away peacefully.
For Harry, his face clearly shows that it was a particularly bitter day. The prince and his wife, Duchess Meghan, separated from the royal family, but he was always very close to his grandmother.
In fact, he was due to give a speech in the evening in London at the WellChild awards, which annually honor disabled children and their carers. But when he found out around noon how bad things were with his grandmother, he gave up.
At least one consolation remains for Harry: in early June, the family, which was actually so divided, sat down at a table for the anniversary of Elizabeth's throne. There the Queen was finally able to meet Lilibet, the 1-year-old daughter of her favorite grandson. Harry had given her the Queen's family nickname as her name. So Elizabeth remains even after death, part of the family.
