The United States, but also the whole world, commemorates today the 23rd anniversary of the bloody attacks of September 11, 2001.
The attack on the twin towers was carried out on September 11, 2001 by a group of 19 radical hijackers, 15 of whom were from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, one from Egypt and one from Lebanon.
First, a hijacked plane crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York, creating a deep crack in the building and causing a fire, while 17 minutes later, another passenger plane crashed into the south tower.
In the attack of September 11, 2001, about 3 thousand people lost their lives. Among the victims in the twin towers were 2,752 people, including 343 firefighters and 60 policemen. Most of the victims were civilians of 70 different nationalities.
