Iran says a fire at a southern port in the country caused by an explosion has finally been extinguished, as the death toll in the incident rose to at least 65 people killed.
Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni announced that the fire had been extinguished, while Hormozgan Governor Mohammad Ashuri Taziani gave the death toll.
The explosion occurred on Saturday at the Shahid Rajaei port near Bandar Abbas.
It is suspected that the cause of the explosion was a chemical component needed for solid fuel for ballistic missiles, something that was denied by the authorities who did not explain the cause that caused such destruction.
Satellite images showed the devastation from an explosion that rocked one of Iran's main ports, as the death toll rose to 65 people with over 1,000 injured.
