Eleven members of a family were killed after Israel attacked a vehicle in Zeitun, Gaza City, accusing it of crossing the so-called "yellow line," which defines areas under Israeli military control.

Hamas condemned what it called a "massacre" and said the family was targeted without justification. The group called on US President Donald Trump and mediators to pressure Israel to respect the ceasefire agreement. According to Al Jazeera, Israel has killed 28 people since the ceasefire took effect.

Meanwhile, Hamas aims to maintain security control in Gaza for a temporary period and cannot commit to disarmament for the time being, Hamas leader Mohammed Nazzal said in an interview with Reuters.

Hamas, which has so far returned nine bodies, handed over to Israel the body of another hostage, identified as 75-year-old Eliyahu Margalit. Relatives were notified after formal identification by forensic experts. The IDF says that, according to intelligence, Eliyahu was killed on October 7, 2023, and his body was brought to Gaza from Kibbutz Nir Oz. His death was confirmed by the military in December 2023.

This leaves 18 bodies of dead Israeli prisoners still in Gaza.

"Hamas must respect the agreements and return the remains of all remaining Israeli hostages killed and still being held in Gaza," Netanyahu's office said after the handover of Margalit's body.

The situation is also difficult on the humanitarian front: the Rafah crossing is expected to open on Sunday, but only people, not trucks, are allowed to pass through. Meanwhile, the Israeli government wants to change the name of the Gaza war to the "War of the Renaissance."
