An attempt to kill the owner of the largest chicken farm has recently taken place in Russia, because of the price of eggs.
Gennady Shiryaev, head of the Tretyakov Poultry Farm in the Voronezh region and a former regional Duma deputy, was driving his Volkswagen on the Kursk-Saratov highway.
Two kilometers from his home, an unknown person fired twice at the SUV, but Shiryaev was not injured.
The author is now being sought. It should be noted that two days ago, the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service launched an investigation against Shiryaev's chicken farm due to the large increase in the price of eggs.
The increase in the price of eggs has caused a revolt in Russia, this is also because the consumption of eggs increases significantly on the eve of the end of the year holidays as they are used in many cooking recipes.
10 eggs cost about US$4, an exorbitant price by Western standards. Sanctions have also affected the price increase, prohibiting the import of a number of machines used to automate chicken feeding and egg collection.
