The toll of damage and casualties from the fires that continue in Los Angeles is mounting.

According to the latest reports, the number of people who have lost their lives has now reached 10.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has stated that the identities of the victims have not yet been learned as their decomposed bodies are being analyzed in order to learn their identities.

"Identification may take several weeks as the Medical Examiner's Department is unable to respond to requests due to fire conditions and safety concerns," they said in a statement.

Notification of the victims' legal relatives is also in the process.
