Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson began his career as a journalist at The Times of London and later continued at the Daily Telegraph. He became assistant editor at the same newspaper from 1994 to 1999 and later editor at The Spectator from 1999 to 2005.

In 2001, he made the transition to politics, first as an MP and then in 2008 as Mayor of London. In 2019, he was elected chairman of the conservative party and assumed the office of prime minister.

This was a short CV of Johnson, and now that he has resigned as Prime Minister in the wake of Partygate and as an MP recently, Boris Johnson has returned to journalism. He has reached an agreement with the Daily Mail newspaper in which he will have his weekly column.

"We are delighted to announce Boris Johnson as our new columnist. Recognized as one of the world's most intelligent and original writers, Boris's column will be published in the Daily Mail every Saturday," the British paper announced in a tweet.

Sources cited by Politico say the former British prime minister will receive a six-figure sum annually for the partnership.
