The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, already officially accepts it. The war started by Russia will end sooner with Donald Trump in the US presidency. "This is the approach of the new team that will run the White House and the promise they gave to their citizens," Zelenski emphasized in an interview with the Ukrainian media, Suspilne.

The Kiev leader confirmed that he had a good phone conversation with Trump after winning the presidential election, but did not mention any requests made by the Republican for possible talks with Russia. Zelensky added that Ukraine will do everything to end this war next year, but through diplomatic means. It also acknowledges that the situation on the battlefront remains difficult, with Putin's troops advancing to occupy the territory. During Saturday, he intervened in the country's parliament, where he spoke about the victory plan.

"The future for Ukraine is definitely to be a strong part of the global world, to be on an equal footing with all the leading countries, to be in the European Union and NATO, as it is right to be a member there. We, the Ukrainians, together with our partners, must change the circumstances so that the war ends regardless of what Putin wants. We all need to change the circumstances so that Russia is forced to peace," said Zelensky.

Zelenski added that if his victory plan goes ahead, the war started by Russia will end no later than next year. He accused the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, of wanting to negotiate only for the capitulation of Ukraine and that he will not accept anything on the table. Earlier, a Russian ambassador to the UN headquarters in Geneva welcomed the US president-elect's call for the return of peace, but recalled Moscow's position that it will not give up the annexed regions of Ukraine.
