A 6-year-old child was pulled alive from the rubble in the city of Diyarbakir on Thursday after spending almost 80 hours under the rubble after the earthquake that struck Turkey.
In the photos published by the Turkish media, local rescue teams can be seen with the baby in their hands. Rescuers worked for hours to save him.
Six-year-old Besir Yildiz asked rescuers to get him water as they tried to get to the boy through a small hole.
The teams later managed to pull him out from under the rubble and transferred him to the hospital for medical checks.
Authorities say about 6,500 buildings in Turkey have collapsed and many others have been damaged, while the death toll exceeded 20,000 by Thursday afternoon.
