"Did he shoot me with an AR-15?" Kirk's POST from 11 years ago
Charlie Kirk

An 11-year-old Twitter post by conservative activist Charlie Kirk is circulating online again, following his shooting death during a public event in Utah.

The 31-year-old was shot dead on Wednesday evening (September 10) while holding a debate at Utah Valley University as part of his political organization, Turning Point USA.

The incident occurred just 20 minutes after he had begun his speech, in front of an audience of nearly 3,000 people.

In amateur videos released immediately after the event, Kirk is seen collapsing in a chair as the crowd erupts in panic.

After the assassination, a 2014 post by Kirk himself has come to light, where he wrote ironically:

"Did he shoot me with an AR-15? That's what it looks like to me," he wrote on June 23, 2014.

The post is circulating rapidly on the X platform (formerly Twitter), receiving thousands of shares in a matter of hours.

Although authorities have not yet confirmed the type of weapon used, speculation points to an AR-15, a semi-automatic rifle widely used in the US.

It is thought that around 25 million of these are in the hands of American civilians.
