It has been almost a month since the tragedy off the coast of Porticello in Italy, when the strong storm mysteriously sank the luxury yacht "Bayesian" of the billionaire Mike Lynch, killing the latter, his 18-year-old daughter, as well as 5 members of the staff. close, one of whom is a well-known banker (August 19).

But what has been found so far inside the vessel is described as a "treasure" for the investigators, as the puzzle lies in the yacht's hard drive that is thought to have fallen into the sea and is being searched for, as it is described as a "black box" that will clarify the circumstances and causes, the dynamics of what happened late that evening.

"A treasure in jewels, but above all a treasure of information that contains the two hard drives that Mike Lynch never parted with," writes "La Repubblica".

At a depth of 49 meters, the vaults of the sailing ship may contain documents of great value to intelligence around the world. There is a lot of international attention for what is still holding "Bayesian", the 56-meter-long yacht worth millions of dollars.

Information that has always traveled with Mike Lynch, the English cyber security tycoon, who died in the shipwreck along with his daughter Hannah Lynch, spouses Morvillo and Bloomer and chef Recaldo Thomas.

"Two super drives protected by highly advanced encryption, which sources close to the cyber-tech mogul describe as 'the IT entrepreneur's vast digital archive that had among its clients England's MI5, the US NSA and the Israeli services,'" follows the prestigious Italian media. Lynch did not trust others or letters, his secrets were kept in the two coded "devices" that remained at the bottom of the sea. Many want to get their hands on these two encrypted disks and all the documents stored in the vaults of the sailing ship.
Lynch became a billionaire creating algorithms and software widely used by security agencies. He founded Autonomy, a company that has won high-profile tenders with UK and US government agencies, including a contract to supply the US Homeland Security's post-9/11 counter-terrorism infrastructure.

For the sale of Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard (for eleven billion dollars), he was tried and acquitted of fraud. After the sale he co-founded cyber security company Darktrace, alongside former senior British intelligence figures.

Doing business with intelligence and government agencies was more than a job for Lynch. It was first and foremost a passion. And like any good British subject, one of his myths was James Bond and the 007 saga, so much so that he named several conference rooms at Autonomy's headquarters after the "two villains" from the film series, Dr. Julius No and Auric Goldfinger.

In London, many people then talk about the giant aquarium in the company reception full of piranhas, in homage to the famous scene in the film.

Palermo investigators ensure that no personal belongings of the seven victims and 15 survivors have been found and that surveillance on the sailing vessel, which was seized as part of the crime, continues 24 hours a day. So officially, no phones, tablets, computers or storage drives were recovered from the wreckage. The only hard drives that come to the surface are those from the ship.

Some were taken from the bridge and are the ones that recorded the weather information, the general condition of the ship, the actions taken in the minutes before the storm. Also from a position on the main deck, Navy divers removed discs from the video surveillance system.

In the engine room, however, there were hard drives that cataloged parameters related to electrical and thermal propulsion.

"We hope to be able to read something from the supporters - comments an investigator - Unfortunately they are standard models that are not resistant to water and pressure".
That's why there was no black box on board the 56-meter, 700-ton sailing ship, which sank within minutes during a very violent storm.
