Greta Thunberg, the Swedish environmental activist, focused on the dangers caused by global warming, has been arrested by the police after blocking traffic for 5 days together with other climate activists from the organization "Halla Tillbaka Framtiden".
"Today, for the third day in a row, the organization has blocked tankers in the port of Malmö. The climate crisis is a matter of life and death for many people. We choose to physically stop fossil fuel infrastructure. We are reclaiming the future," Thunberg wrote on her Twitter account on Saturday.
The 20-year-old activist, last week, declared that she withdrew from protests at school, for the simple fact that she has already graduated.
"I graduated today, which means I can no longer go on strike at school about the weather. This is the last school strike for me", wrote Thunberg on the social network. In another publication, she clarified that she will continue the protests in other countries.
"The war has just begun," added the young woman.
We remember that this girl from Stockholm became known worldwide for her demonstrations since September 2018, when she was only 15 years old, when she called on the Swedish government to act immediately on climate change.
A few years later, Greta Thunberg became known around the world after she started a school strike in front of the Swedish Parliament in Stockholm, demanding that the government reduce carbon emissions based on the provisions of the Paris Agreement. The persistence of their demonstration began to attract the attention of the media and environmentalists from other countries of the world.
Currently, the activist has become a symbol of the fight against climate change, which has generated thousands of followers, but also critics in all parts of the world. Among the most critical of the new is former president Donald Trump, who has tried to mock it on several occasions.
