Montenegrin boxer Goran Gogic, arrested in America for drug smuggling from Colombia to Europe, is suspected of being the security guard of the famous brothers, also boxers, Vladimir and Vitali Klitschko.

The investigations concluded that the 43-year-old most likely worked for the Kavački clan and the fugitive leader Radoj Zvicer. Part of this clan, which allegedly provided cocaine directly from producers in Colombia, were also Serbian citizens.

The handcuffing of the boxer confirmed the fact that criminals from the Balkans have become among the main links in the chain of smuggling large quantities of cocaine from South America to Europe.

He risks being sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment up to life in prison. Gogic believes in his innocence and that he went to the USA for a boxing convention. The boxer was arrested trying to fly to Zurich.

INDICTMENT

The indictment states that the members of the Balkan criminal group transported cocaine to Europe from Colombia, through American ports, using cranes and nets, thanks to which they loaded the drug on cargo ships, which were sent by boats along the transport routes. The documents say that Gogic's role was to oversee shipments and coordinate with members of the group, Colombian smugglers and European ports to get the cocaine to its final destination, writes Kurir.rs .

He was a promising boxer, actively engaged in this sport from 2001 to 2012. According to Montenegrin media, he won 21 matches and lost 4, while 2 ended in a draw. Sources indicate that he ended his career in 2012 and was not seen in public after that. It is at this moment that he is believed to have focused and dedicated himself to the drug business.

During the operation carried out in 2018, the DEA discovered that Radoje Zvicer was hiding drugs. As they stated then, in court documents from Philadelphia, his name was also mentioned in the statement of one of the members of the Montenegrin crew who admitted the crime, while Gogic had not yet been discovered.
