The news is confirmed by the Bolivian media, according to which a person was found dead in a rented apartment with a friend in the northern area of Los Tusequis neighborhood in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. After the sudden death of this citizen, the police arrived at the scene and found that the foreigner had died as a result of a heart attack. Subsequently, investigations by the specialized prosecutor for crimes against life, Rose María Barrientos, revealed that the Italian passport he was carrying was fake. The prosecution and the police requested more information from the Italian embassy, where it was learned that it is a question of a wanted person with a red card, who escaped from a prison in Rome.

He has been identified as Roland Dedja, 40 years old from Durrës. On September 25, 2023, he escaped from Teramo prison in Abruzzo, assisted by an external drone, which carried the necessary tools that were then used by the 40-year-old to cut the railings and rappel down. Dedja, at the time of his escape, was awaiting trial for drugs and robbery after his arrest in Martinsicuro. He was previously also accused of murdering the Albanian Shpëtim Cupa in Brescia, Italy. In the first instance he was acquitted, but the case was then appealed and there is no information about the further decision.

This is not the first escape that the 40-year-old has made, as he also escaped from Pisa prison in 2010, together with another Albanian. He was then in prison for the murder of 44-year-old Shpëtim Cupa on February 23, 2010 and an attempted murder. Dedja is known to have previously lived in Spain, France, while he also used a fake Czech passport under the name Kamill Hladky.
