The KSF troops left for Turkey after yesterday's decision by Prime Minister Albin Kurti and authorization by President Vjosa Osmani.
Military personnel specialized in humanitarian operations will help Turkey in the areas most affected by Monday's earthquake.
Meanwhile, Kosovo has declared a National Day of Mourning on February 8 in commemoration of all the lives lost by the devastating earthquake that struck southeastern Turkey and northern Syria.
The news was made public by President Vjosa Osmani through a post on Gacebook. Osmani writes that "the devastation of this earthquake has shaken everyone's hearts, but supporting each other in these days of terror awakens hope and faith that life will triumph".
