An Italian seismology expert has given shocking details about the powerful earthquake that hit Turkey today.

Professor Carlo Doglioni, president of the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, says that today "what we call the Arabian plate moved about 3 meters along a northeast-southwest direction in relation to the Anatolian plate; we are talking about a structure in the border area between this world, that of the Arabian plate and that of the Anatolian plate".

He revealed that for at least 150 kilometers there was a displacement of more than three meters.

Everything happened in a few tens of seconds, radiating this earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8-7.9, an earthquake that is called big".
