Life imprisonment for Albanian in Greece, who killed Greek woman and injured her

A Thessaloniki court sentenced a 47-year-old Albanian man to life in prison for killing his Greek wife. He was found guilty of murder, attempted murder of the woman's son and violation of weapons laws.

The crime was recorded on the morning of December 1, 2024. The 47-year-old man, who believed that the mother and son were having an affair, went to the house at 8 a.m. armed with a gun to kill them. According to the testimonies of the woman's children, there was no quarrel that day, however, there was a scene of jealousy and the victim asked him to leave the house.

The 47-year-old packed his things and went to stay with his brother. But it turned out that during those four days he had decided to take the lives of his wife and her son, with whom he believed he was having an affair.

The accused also stated that he knew that his wife was having an affair with another man. Referring to what had happened a few days earlier, he spoke about the mark on her lips that he claims the wife had and that was what “ignited” his suspicions.

He claimed that immediately after the murder he went to the police to surrender, but without knowing exactly what had happened, as he was confused. However, according to his statement to the police, he had admitted at the time that he wanted to kill the mother and son.
