The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has reacted regarding the approval of Pristina's official request for the purchase of weapons from the USA, this approval also needs to be approved by the American Congress.

Osmani said that this event marks a historical moment for Kosovo's national security and is a proof of Kosovo's stable partnership with the United States of America.

"A historic moment for our national security and a proof of our stable partnership with the United States", wrote the head of state of Kosovo.

She has stated that Kosovo is now entering a decisive phase of National Defense Capacities, developing the Kosovo Security Force according to NATO standards and further deepening the relationship with the strategic ally, the United States of America.

Osmani has shown that he talked with Secretary Blinken about the issue of arms sales as early as 2022 and says that he is confident that Congress will approve the sale of arms to the most pro-American country in the world.

"I express special thanks to Secretary Blinken with whom we have discussed the approval of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program in July 2022, for the US Department of Defense and the United States Congress, which has now been officially announced for Kosovo's intention to purchase weapon defense systems through the FMS program", wrote President Osmani.
