Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucic, said he held a "friendly and open conversation" with France's presidency, Emmanuel Macron, on bilateral relations and regional issues.

Vucic said that they spoke with Macron "especially in light of the current developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Kosovo". He said that he underlined to Macron Serbia's "commitment" to the dialogue.

"I emphasized that Serbia remains committed to all processes aimed at preserving peace, cooperation and prosperity, and reiterated that the development of the country, the well-being, as well as the protection of the Serbian people, are our main national interests. I underlined our commitment to dialogue and respect for international law, as well as our readiness to contribute to the long-term stability of the region," the Serbian president wrote in a Facebook post.

He said he thanked Macron for his "personal commitment to Western Balkans issues", as well as for the "continuous support" he said "France gives to Serbia on its European path".
