The president, Joe Biden , has jokingly told his aides that the key to a long and healthy marriage is " good sex ," according to a new book called " The American Woman " by Katie Rogers, the White House correspondent. for the New York Times .

The book will be released this week, and the section on sex comprises only a few paragraphs in the 276-page book.

Rogers writes that Biden did not run for president in 2004, a decision that was pointed out to aides when Jill Biden entered the room wearing a crop top with the word "NO" written across her stomach.

Joe Biden, now 81, told a group of supporters that year that he had little interest in running for president.

"I'd rather be at home making love to my wife while my kids are asleep," he said.

The book describes the anguish Joe Biden experienced when his first wife, Neilia, died in a car accident in 1972 along with their daughter Naomi.

He and Jill married in 1977, but it took five proposals from Biden to get Jill to accept.
