Erika Kirk, the wife of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has given an emotional speech days after her husband's murder during a public event in Utah.
Speaking live from the headquarters of Turning Point USA, she stood next to her husband's empty chair, where he was recording the podcast. Through tears, she thanked medical teams and authorities for their efforts to save him.
"His legacy will never die. His voice will continue to be heard," she said.
Erika, who was in the audience with their two young children at the time of the shooting, said her husband loved family above all else, but also President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, who helped return the body to Arizona.
“If you thought his mission was powerful so far… you ain’t seen nothing yet,” she said, addressing those who shot him.
Charlie Kirk, 31, was one of the most prominent figures in the new conservative movement in the US. He was shot dead during a university event in Orem, Utah, while speaking on issues such as gun violence and transgender rights.
President Trump has announced that he will award him the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously, calling him a "champion of freedom" and "giant of his generation."
Turning Point USA described him as a "martyr" to the conservative cause.
