A structured criminal group that committed fiscal evasion causing an economic damage of 195 million euros through the creation of fictitious invoices for the purpose of VAT reimbursement , has been destroyed in a mega operation throughout Europe , including Albania .

SPAK announced that in our country 5 inspections of premises were carried out, from which various electronic devices were seized ( phones, laptops, as well as USB/HDD ), various citizens were interrogated, and all material evidence was secured that the subjects under investigation have carried out in Albania.  

The investigation has been extended to 17 countries ( Albania, Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and the United Kingdom ), carrying out more than 180 controls, and 14 citizens were arrested.

More than 680 different investigators have been engaged to carry out these investigative actions.

The European Public Prosecutor's Office said that during the operation in all the aforementioned states, mobile phones worth over 15.3 million euros , as well as a yacht worth 3 million euros , 1.2 million euros in cash and cryptocurrencies were seized .

Several vehicles, of the Rolls-Royce, BMW and Range Rover brands , were also seized, as well as jewelry, luxury watches and 2.5 kilograms of gold.

The Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime, in coordination with the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO), has followed the investigations for the coded Operation "Cluster Midas", for the criminal offense " Fiscal Evasion ", carried out in the form of a structured group criminal.

These activities were carried out by creating fictitious invoices with the purpose of VAT reimbursement , as well as avoiding fiscal obligations.

The damage caused by these activities is estimated to be 195 million Euro , which is distributed in 17 countries, mainly European.

The Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime , in cooperation with the State Police, has carried out 5 premises controls, from which various electronic devices have been seized ( telephone money, laptop, as well as USB/HDD ), they have been interrogated different citizens, as well as all the material evidence that the subjects in the investigation have carried out in Albania have been secured.
