The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku has emphasized that there will be no increase in the price of electricity for households and small business.

In a television interview, Balluku spoke about the situation in the country regarding the price of energy and proposing another price for consumers over 700 kV.

"There are two different facts, first of all there is no decision. We have launched a market analysis to see how it might work. In case it exceeds 700 kV of consumption, another price would be set and this is due to the fact that there was a demand from the public, as not everyone can pay the same price, while as the Prime Minister has said several times, "lighting of yards, swimming pools, gardens should have the same treatment as those people who have it for basic consumption", she said.

Balluku added that the government will not change anything from what it has said, the household consumer will be protected by not raising a single penny for the price of energy, as will be done with small business.

"This is something we have to say, but small business has a special importance, as it is the engine of the Albanian economy, but in terms of family use, then 700 kV are enough and satisfactory for a family with a number considerable members, "she said.

Regarding the question of how much the price will increase, Balluku said that there is still no decision.

"There is no decision to increase the price. We are still in analysis to understand what consumption is like and then we will decide how it will work. "This has come as a request of family members, as they consider unfair the fact that everyone pays the same, while there are consumers who have nothing to do with basic consumption", she said.
