The 17 kilometers of the Milot-Balldren road will cost 365 million euros. The Minister of Infrastructure, Enea Karakaçi, has shared several photos on social networks stating that the road will be of category A, with two traffic lanes and one emergency lane in each direction.

The route will be new, while the existing road will become an alternative. Specifically, the route of the axis begins at the Milot junction, where it will connect with the other road segments Milot-Thumanë-Kashar-Lekaj and the National Road, and will end at the existing Tirana-Shkodër road, in Balldre.

An 850-meter-long tunnel with two tubes will be built between the Drini Bridge and Balldren, enabling the bypass of Lezha.

The highway will include bridges, junctions, service points and, for toll roads, intelligent monitoring.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2028 and is one of the most important segments of the Adriatic-Ionian Corridor.

The winner of the 35-year concession for the construction of the new Milot-Balldre highway with a limit fund of 364 million euros was announced as the company "Salillari" with the other companies ALB TIEFBAU" sh.pk, "ERALD-G" sh.pk and "InfraKonsult" sh.pk

The road will be built entirely with private funds, while the company's profit will come from toll fees, once the road is opened to traffic.
