The peoples of the world have always fought to be free. In modern times, the concept of freedom has changed. Freedom is being free within society from oppressive restriction imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior or political views.

While in theology, freedom is freedom from sin or spiritual slavery. But we are not always aware of the dangers it brings. Not everyone understands or believes how far they can go with their freedom. Not understanding, they do not think to take responsibility for the actions they perform. One mistake, one setback, one bad decision can cause our life to suddenly fall apart. And when the party is over, we see with open eyes that what we didn't value so much and maybe we saw as something that was given to us tirelessly, is suddenly taken from us...

On that day of March 2022 or October 7, 2023, we witnessed how some dark forces turned into killers before the eyes of the whole world. Their innocence was questioned with all the dark purpose of fighting for freedom.

Any reason.

Any country.

Of any religion or belief. And now against all this infidelity the time has come to unite and fight to the last breath. Because the world seems to have suddenly stopped.

It is the year 2024. The most intense year of political events that can give a different direction to our planet. And the most uncertain year the world has ever seen.

In the background are three wars that will pressurize world affairs: Russia against Ukraine, in its third year. Israel against Hamas in the third month and the United States against itself, ready to launch at any moment.

Russia's war against Ukraine is getting worse and worse. Russia is at the forefront of the battlefield. In another advantage too. That material. While Ukraine is losing interest and almost entirely international attention. For the United States, in particular, it is now a distant priority, despite hundreds of thousands of casualties and millions of displaced Ukrainians.

Military battle fatigue, dwindling Western support and political infighting often remind me of the last days of the once fallen Russian empire around the turn of the century. XX. Ukrainians today feel increasingly desperate, making Kiev more vulnerable to danger. Although Russia has no chance of winning this battle, Ukraine risks de facto dismemberment this year. All we see is that it too may lose the war there by 2025.

But who wins the war like this? Neither Russia nor Ukraine..But who?

Ndërsa asnjë vend prej aleatëve nuk ka dëshirë të mendojë për shpërthimin e një lufte rajonale, toka vuan thatësirën e shkretëtirës duke e bërë të lartë rrezikun e përshkallëzimit. Luftimet në Gaza ka të ngjarë të jenë vetëm faza e parë e një konflikti në zgjerim këtë vit.

Cilido qoftë rezultati ushtarak, një rritje dramatike e radikalizimit të sjelljes së dy popujve është e garantuar. Hebrenjtë vetë që banojnë në Izrael, të cilët e ndjejnë veten të izoluar globalisht dhe madje të urryer pasi u përballën me dhunën më të keqe kundër tyre që nga Holokausti. Dhe palestinezët të cilët besojnë se përballen me genocid brenda territorit të tyre, pa mundësi paqeje dhe perspektivë shpëtimi.

Ndarje të thella politike mbi konfliktin shtrihen në të gjithë Lindjen e Mesme. Dhe mbi një miliard njerëz në botën muslimane, për të mos përmendur Shtetet e Bashkuara dhe Evropën të cilat tashmë gjenden mes një kaosi bindjesh, si atëherë në vitet ’20 të shekullit të kaluar.

Dhe në fund sfida më e madhe e këtij viti; Shtetet e Bashkuara kundër vetes. Ndërsa ushtria dhe ekonomia e Amerikës mbeten ende jashtëzakonisht të forta, sistemi i saj politik duket më pak funksional. Zgjedhjet e vitit 2024 do ta përkeqësojnë këtë problem pavarësisht se kush fiton, duke përkeqësuar ndarjen politike të vendit, duke testuar demokracinë amerikane në një shkallë që kombi nuk e ka përjetuar në gati 150 vjet dhe më tej duke minuar besueshmërinë e SHBA-së në skenën globale.

Plot një e treta e popullsisë në glob pritet të shkojë në votime këtë vit, por zgjedhjet në SHBA do të jenë ngjarja më e rëndësishme për sigurinë, stabilitetin dhe perspektivën ekonomike të të gjithë rruzullit. Rezultati i tyre pritet të ndikojë në fatin e 8 miliardë njerëzve.

Vendi më i fuqishëm në botë do të përballet me sfida kritike për institucionet kryesore politike të tij: zgjedhjet e lira dhe të ndershme, transferimi paqësor i pushtetit dhe kontrolli e balanca të siguruara prej ndarjes së pushteteve.

A do të mund këto halle ta lëkundin statujën bukur të lirisë në bregun oqeanik të saj?

Këtë do duhet ta presim me durim. Sepse asnjë prej këtyre tre konflikteve nuk duket se flasin për një vizion të qartë se ku duan të shkojnë. Asnjë udhëheqës i tyre nuk frymëzon. Asnjë platformë nuk duket për të sistemuar apo qoftë dhe për të pastruar këtë kaos në hartën e globit. Duket si një planet pa perëndi ku ata që qeverisin i shohin kundërshtarët e tyre si armiq të popullit dhe jo si mendje të mençura që mendojnë ndryshe.

Dhe në të tre rastet, befas kuptojmë po rrisim breza njerëzish të zemëruar. Të përgatitur për të hapur vec ‘gropa’ dhe për të luftuar për aq kohë sa na duhet.

An end to fighting? Perhaps when one or both parties are completely destroyed by exhaustion.

Aren't we heading towards a Year Zero?

Yes. Maybe yes. A world without global leadership. Where the United States, the only superpower in the world, is no longer a policeman of the globe, an architect of global trade or even a promoter of global values. And worse still, no other country appears suitable for this role.

War afflicts us all equally. Rich and poor. Men or women... She makes no difference when she knocks on your door, except for the sadness of the emptiness she leaves behind for those who leave.

But in the end there are always many ways to succeed. Too much to survive... Because the boundaries that separate life from death always remain unclear. We never know where one begins and the other ends.

And this is our real struggle. A battle that has no end. Where life beats the night where man found himself in the middle. As her only witness. He triumphed by remaining alive because he did not leave that battlefield.
