Many people were evacuated when a fire broke out at a five-star hotel in the Courchevel ski resort in the French Alps late Tuesday evening, officials said.
There were no injuries in the fire, which broke out around 7pm (local time) in the attic of the Hotel des Grandes Alpes, the Savoie prefecture said on its website.
Officials said nearly 100 people were evacuated, and local media later reported that the number had risen to 270 after the fire spread to a neighboring building. Staff and residents were evacuated to other hotels, local authorities said.
"The evacuation took place peacefully and so far no injuries have been reported," according to the same source.
