The Korça Prosecutor's Office has completed the investigation into the murder of 52-year-old Kozeta Teço and has sent the perpetrator, Ilirjan Selmani, to trial.

According to the investigation, Teço was killed by Selmani with knives found in a bag in the toilet of her apartment and then he set fire to the house.

The victim's blood was found in the back pocket of Ilirjan Selmani's pants.

At the end of the forensic medical examination, the conclusion was reached that the cause of death of the 52-year-old was as a result of traumatic-hemorrhagic shock.

Selmani often went to Teço's apartment, as their relationship lasted for more than 3 years. 

Announcement from the Prosecutor's Office, Korça:

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Korça, completed the investigations and sent citizen IS to trial for the criminal offense of 'Murder in other qualifying circumstances' provided for by Article 79/e of the Criminal Code against the victim KT.

From the investigations into criminal proceedings no. 1064, year 2025, it resulted that in neighborhood no. 1 in the city of Pogradec there had been a fire in an apartment and a victim was suspected, later identified as citizen KT.

From the examination of the scene, where several fire sources were found, as well as from the initial examination of the corpse, on whose body signs of violence were found.

In the apartment's toilet, placed in a garbage bag, a knife handle, a knife blade, another knife with a wooden handle, and a knife blade stained with a reddish substance similar to blood were found.

At the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, it was concluded that the injuries inflicted on citizen KT were caused by sharp cutting tools. The cause of death was traumatic-hemorrhagic shock.

From the entirety of the investigative actions carried out, the acts and sources of evidence obtained, it results that the citizen under investigation, IS, had a love relationship with the victim.

He went to her apartment often, about 2-3 times a week, and their relationship lasted for more than 3 years.

From the results of the examination of the video footage taken by subjects around the scene, it was determined that citizen IS went to the victim's apartment at 22:48 according to the video footage and after this time no other movement was observed until 03:58 according to the camera time and 04:58 according to real time, at which time citizen IS threw the bags into the trash can.

Referring to the acts of the evaluative and comparative biological expertise, it resulted that the citizen KT was killed with the knives that were found in a bag in the toilet of her apartment, which contained blood and hair belonging to the victim. It resulted that the victim's blood was found in the back pocket of the pants of the citizen IS.

In conclusion, from the entirety of the investigative actions carried out, acts and sources of evidence have been obtained that prove that citizen IS killed the victim KT in circumstances that caused special suffering and must be criminally liable for committing the criminal offense of " Murder in other qualifying circumstances " in such a way that causes special suffering to the victim, as provided for in Article 79, letter (e) of the Criminal Code.
