They killed the mother's lover for honor, the appeal gives the final
Brothers Sajmir and Arsil Shera

The Tirana Court of Appeal left unchanged the decision given by the First Instance for the brothers Sajmir and Arsil Shera, accused of "premeditated murder" of taxi driver Abdulla Budlla, after suspicions of an intimate relationship between him and their mother.

The Appeal decision upheld the sentence of 14 years and 8 months in prison for Sajmir Shera and 10 years in prison for his brother, Arsil Shera.

The murder of 71-year-old Abdulla Budlla took place in August 2020 in the Fushë-Preza area on the Vorë-Fushë Krujë axis. The taxi driver was shot with a Kalashnikov while he was in his stopped vehicle near the Rinas intersection.

The Shera brothers were the first suspects of the Prosecutor's Office due to an earlier conflict between them and the taxi driver.

Suspicions were reinforced after the discovery of long telephone communications between the victim and the mother of the two suspects.

According to the prosecution, the motive of the crime was the two brothers' suspicion of a relationship between their mother and the taxi driver, while they had suspicions that he was also harassing their sister.

During the investigation, Sajmir Shera admitted the crime, but excluded his brother.
