The saga of scandals with Albania's roads continues/Landslide on the
Librazhd-Përrenjas

Bad weather but also other causes related to the works being carried out for the expansion of Corridor VIII have created a massive landslide near the village of Dragostunjë, on the national axis Librazhd-Përrenjas , a landslide which has split half of this road axis in a significant part of it. 

Meanwhile, the collapse occurred no further than 2 km from the place where two weeks ago a mountain slope collapsed, blocking traffic for 8 hours, creating not only a danger to road users, but also traffic problems in the days that followed.

Fortunately, the measures taken did not create any danger for road users, however, the latter request that precautionary measures be taken to deal with any emergency situations that are occurring on this road axis every day.

The Albanian road authority and the company working on the road construction have taken measures to direct traffic to one lane and to open a new track which will function as a second lane for the movement of vehicles.

Meanwhile, a drilling probe is studying the massiveness of this landslide and, although it has so far gone several meters underground, it has not yet found stable ground, which means that the landslide here is massive.
