Journalist Klodiana Lala has listed a number of points that she sees as dark in the death of 32-year-old Lear Kurti, who died in the hands of the police the night before.
Invited to the "Open" show, Lala said that she does not tend to believe the statements of the Police Surveillance Agency, which is headed by Ardi Veliu, the man who, according to the journalist, also intended to hide the murder of Klodian Rasha and Pjerin Xhuvani.
Lala said that in-depth toxicological analyzes are being carried out and they want to have an answer in up to 6 weeks. Referring to the official statements, the journalist says that the police should show where she is based who says she ingested narcotics.
"Leari was accompanied by police officers around 11 pm last night. He was identified and escorted to the police station by another patrol. At police station 3, he had the first signs of tremors and was then escorted to Trauma, where he was said to have arrived dead. All this took about 45 minutes. Toxicological and in-depth analyzes are being carried out and they want up to 6 weeks to have an answer.
I am not inclined to believe the Agency for the fact that he swallowed drugs, since Ardi Veliu is in charge, who was on duty when they tried to cover up the case of Klodian Rasha.
He is the same police officer who tried to cover up the incident in Elbasan with the death of Pjerin Xhuvan. I want to raise a question from the information I received: What are the reasons that led the patrol to verify this person? Did the police suspect he might have narcotics? Was it a subject being observed? Why was it decided to take it for verification and what were the indications? What happened during the pursuit that the police say was done for about 200 meters and was not monitored by the cameras. What happened from the detention at the police station?
The case of Klodian Rasha showed that body cameras did not work at that time. The moment the 32-year-old man went down to the police station, he showed the first symptoms of health concerns that he was shaking. We do not know how long he was kept at the police station. We do not know if he would have survived if he had been taken to the hospital. there are no visible signs of violence but there is a contradictory moment that the police say they sent him to the hospital with signs of life but Trauma declares that his arrival was lifeless. I don't know where the police are based who say he ingested narcotics. Even if he is a user, the police have to implement the protocols to guarantee his rights. So far we do not have an analysis to determine that he died as a result of an overdose. It is all these points that tell me that an in-depth analysis is needed because the police have remained in place count. It doesn't appear to me that there were signs of violence, but the final expertise may reveal something else. I have another unclear moment, it is said that marks on the wrists from handcuffs have been found. Where was it based that a person who was taken for verification was handcuffed," -she expressed.
