The manager and the specialist of the Medicines Agency have been arrested as they are implicated in the scheme of imposing fines on pharmacies.

They have been identified as Besiana Xhelili, 38 years old, responsible and specialist Luan Çiçi, 35 years old, son of former prosecutor Bujar Çiçi.

They took bribes for speeding up the procedures of the pharmaceutical companies and imposed fines of 30-50 thousand lek so that they would not be punished with administrative measures when they were found to be in violation. Their colleague, specialist Armando Luka, is wanted.

The investigations within the coded operation "Pharmacist" were directed by the prosecutor Bledar Valikaj. 

From the investigative actions carried out, it was found that the three officials, in the capacity of employees of the Agency of Medicines, exercised controls in various pharmaceutical entities and, abusing their duties, received sums of money from 30-50 thousand ALL, in order not to report the legal violations that were carried out by these subjects.

The work continues for the capture of Armando Luka, as well as for the identification of other citizens involved in this criminal activity. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Tirana Judicial District Court for further action.
