Investigated for a $1 million tender: The Supreme Court returns the criminal

The Supreme Court returns the criminal file against Thoma Gëllçi, the former General Director of RTSH, for retrial. 

"Reversal of decision no. 56 dated 07.12.2022 of the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime and return of the case for reconsideration before that court, with another panel of judges," the Supreme Court's ruling states.

Strasbourg had previously found a violation in the case in question.

We recall that Gëllçi was investigated for abuse of office, for a tender awarded while he was director of RTSH, signed in November 2018.

It was this tender that led to the arrest of the former director of RTSH, Thoma Gëllçi, and 3 officials of this television station. 

This is a tender for the purchase of equipment for the RTSH Agro channel worth 86,908,550.00 lek (excluding VAT), approximately 1 million dollars with VAT.
