A recently released document, leaked from within the Commission of Inquiry into TIMS data, reveals another side of this scandal. It is about the role played by a person named Bruno Veizaj, former employee in the Directorate of Technology and Information in the General Directorate of the State Police.
The latter was the programmer of the 'e-Gate' and Tims – Criminal systems, systems that output TIMS data at the border when all citizens cross the border. When in 2020 the Ministry of Interior terminated the cooperation with ICITAP that had built the TIMS system, the so-called 'source codes', or initial programming codes, were not delivered. Bruno Veizaj was the only one who had these data.
When he was appointed head of the Directorate of Information Technology in the Police, Ervin Muça (in custody today on charges that he illegally downloaded the TIMS database), revealed the scandal, which in fact turned out to be even more serious than that.
In a letter dated December 20, 2023, Muça wrote to Chief Police Officer Rrumbullaku that even with the interest of ICITAP, it was discovered that there was interference in the TIMS system, and on October 30, 2023 there were even code changes.
In order to understand what happened, an information backup was made and after examinations it was found that in a group of 5 passport-type travel documents, the system did not perform the search in the criminal TIMS. So these people could cross the border freely, and nothing would appear for them in the system, even their entries and exits were not registered at all.
As for the names of these 5 people, we are talking about Bruno Veizajn himself, 3 IT employees in the state police, and the person named Tedi Malaveci. For the first 4, the purpose may have been to test the system, as they were all employees there.
The scandal is connected with the name of Malaveci, the senior leader of the National Chamber of Albanian Bailiffs, who has nothing to do with the Directorate of Information Technology in the State Police and it is not understood why he should be there.
So, this document leaked by the opposition from the Investigative Commission that was also used by former Prime Minister Berisha to accuse Muça and others of having used the TIMS system to cross the criminal border, actually shows that IT specialists were the police themselves. who discovered the scandal, debunked the former employee, but also that 4 of the 5 names in the system as 'privileged' have nothing to do with the crime. It remains to be clarified why the name of Malaveci, rumored to be a man with a criminal past, was added in an apparently illegal manner./shqiptarja.com
