The Special Court has postponed the next preliminary hearing session against the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, and his co-defendants to January 19th.

According to official sources, the reason for the postponement of the hearing was the absence of two defense attorneys, including the lead attorney assigned to defend Veliaj.

Through an email, the lawyer requested a postponement of the hearing, arguing that she was abroad.

Mayor Erion Veliaj was not present at today's session.

The next hearing is expected to take place on January 19, where the Special Court will continue with the preliminary examination of the case.
