The number of children with autism spectrum disorders is growing alarmingly in Albania, but not only there.

There are no official figures in our country, but it is estimated that there are between 6,000 and 14,000 people affected by spectrum disorders.

In winter, officially, 2,500 children benefit from camp, of which 1,500 are treated with a caregiver.

Many parents who have children with spectrum disorders have chosen private centers to treat their children, facing staggering costs that are not included in official statistics. But, in addition to the high fees, no one checks these centers, what protocols they follow.

Experts suggest expanding state therapeutic services to other cities besides Tirana.
