People with multiple sclerosis now have a dedicated place where they can receive care and support, a new physical rehabilitation center in Tirana, made possible thanks to the support of the Mane Foundation. At this center, patients benefit from combined physical therapy, manual and with modern equipment, which help maintain mobility and improve their well-being. Therapy for patients is provided according to medical recommendation for each and, thanks to the contribution of the Mane Foundation, this treatment will be free of charge.

This project would not have been possible without close and coordinated cooperation between institutions. The Mane Foundation, with its commitment to people with disabilities at its core, has provided support for the continued operation of the services provided, while the German Embassy in Albania, through its Development Cooperation Department, has provided the medical equipment that makes the center possible. The center was carefully designed by the “Tree of Life” Foundation, which is active in the daily efforts of this social group for medical education and integration opportunities.

On the opening day, the center was visited by Samir Mane, founder of the Mane Foundation, accompanied by representatives of the “Tree of Life” Foundation and the German Embassy. The opening of the center marks another step in the Mane Foundation’s mission to create more equal opportunities and improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, causing difficulties with movement, balance, coordination and sometimes cognitive functions. Many patients experience fatigue, muscle stiffness, weakness, pain or numbness in the limbs, as well as mood swings. The disease usually appears between the ages of 20–40, and over 1,000 people live with this condition in Albania, with about 400 identified in Tirana alone.
The Physical Rehabilitation Center for People with Multiple Sclerosis is proof that through dedicated collaboration, real opportunities can be created for those who need it most.
