People who have not yet been identified have damaged the grave of Fatmir Haklaj in the village of Kërrnajë in Tropoja. As can be seen from the published photo, the tombstone where the name was written was completely broken.

The news was made known by the sister of Fatmir Haklaj, Zylfie Haklaj, through a social media post on the page "Haklajt e Tropoja", where she posted photos of the destroyed grave.

"You are wasting our time on the Hill of our cemetery because even the dead are alive or not. We know what day you break and on purpose we have worked on the exact day who deals with these jobs. Leave Hajri out of work",  she writes.

The story of the murders in the Haklaj family

The Haklaj family is known not only in Tropoja, but throughout the north of Albania. It is one of the largest families in this area. The riots of 1997 caused the sons of this family to become the "flag bearers" of the entire Tropoja.

Një nga djemtë e Haklajve, Fatmir Haklaj, në atë vit drejtonte policinë e Tropojës. Numri i djemve tropojanë, të vrarë vetëm në 16 vjetët e fundit, pas vitit 1997, është rreth 200 persona. Vrasja e parë është bërë në dalje të urës së Milotit, ku viktima është një nga djemtë e fisit Haklaj, konkretisht Sokol Haklaj, ndihmësgjyqtar në rrethin e Skraparit. Pas kësaj vrasjeje nisën vrasjet e tjera të shumta serike, që kanë lidhje me fisin Haklaj të Tropojës.

Ndërkohë, vrasja më e bujshme e kryer prej tyre është ajo e deputetit të Partisë Demokratike, Azem Hajdari, më 12 shtator të vitit 1998. Më datën 5 janar 1998 vritet në Qafën e Luzhës, në një atentat me armë zjarri automatike, Shkëlqim Haklaj, një tjetër djalë i familjes Haklaj. Pas kësaj vrasjeje nis vrasja e djemve të tjerë të kësaj familjeje të madhe e të njohur, të kryefamiljarit Muharrem Haklaj. Ndërkohë, më 4 gusht 1999, vriten në atentat, në afërsi të fshatit Cërnicë, me mina të telekomanduara, Halil Haklaj e Feriz Kërnaja dhe plagoset rëndë Fatmir Haklaj.

The revenge against the Haklaj tribe has not stopped there. On December 3, 2000, the other son, Ylli Haklaj, was executed by sniper. The last murder of the sons of the Haklaj family was carried out on May 8, 2002, near the Bajram Curri hospital, where Elez Haklaj and his son, Çelë Haklaj, were killed.
