3.5 mln Euro property in Elbasan is seized

A preventive seizure is imposed on assets worth about 3.5 million euros, which are suspected to have benefited from criminal activity.

Work continues on tracking, identifying and confiscating assets derived from criminal activities.

The coded police operation "Facade" is finalized.

The operation, carried out by the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in DVP Elbasan, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance Elbasan.

A preventive seizure is placed on some assets worth about 3.5 million euros, which are suspected to be derived from the criminal activities of a 46-year-old man.

From the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes in DVP Elbasan, in cooperation with the Prosecution of the Elbasan Judicial District, as a result of the tracking and investigative work carried out for the identification and seizure of illegally obtained assets as a result of criminal activities, the successful completion of the coded operation "Facade" became possible.

As a result of the operation, the decision of the Elbasan Court of First Instance was executed, which, based on the evidence collected during the investigations carried out by the Police and the Prosecutor's Office, imposed a preventive seizure on the assets of the AT citizen, 46 years old, resident in Elbasan.

The AT citizen is a suspected perpetrator of the criminal offense "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activities", as he was previously arrested in Italy, for the criminal offense "Exploitation of prostitution", under aggravating circumstances.

Pursuant to the court's decision, it became possible to seize various assets, worth about 3.5 million euros. Specifically, the following were seized: a three-story building, a two-story building, 3 apartments, several vehicles of various types, 4 construction areas and a commercial activity (business) aimed at the production of concrete.

Under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, the work is continuing to discover other illegally obtained assets that this citizen and his family members may have registered in the name of other persons.

The materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Elbasan Judicial District Court, for further action.
