Charles Kupchan, former foreign policy advisor in the administrations of Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama , spoke about the potential danger that could be posed to Albania by Iran, as our country shelters part of the Iranian opposition.
In a direct link to a2, Kupchan said that in the current climate of tensions, all European countries, including Albania, must be cautious.
"In fact, I think all European countries should be cautious. They are standing on the defensive and, to some extent, expressing support for the operation, in the hope that a good result will be achieved. This is not a regime that has many sympathizers in the world. Many governments and many peoples understand that this is a revisionist regime, which has caused instability in the Middle East and beyond for a very long time," he stated.
Kupchan stated that Albania, as a NATO member state, will need to maintain a supportive stance with allies to lead the conflict towards a positive outcome.
"It would be a good idea for Albania and other countries that are part of the North Atlantic Alliance to stand in a supportive position, be coordinated with allies, and offer what they can to lead this conflict towards a positive outcome," he added.
