The director of the Albanian Radio Television, Eni Vasili, says that the institution she has been leading for a few months is a crisis.
She addressed the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, with a request for financial support of an additional 200,000,000 Lek from the State Budget, where she says that RTSH is in a difficult financial situation. For this, Vasili has several arguments, starting with the low, as he describes it, of the television tariff.
Also, according to her, there is no budget funding at the rate of 100% for the expenses of programs financed by the State Budget, while she says that there are very high values for television and sports rights, contracted over the years and remaining unpaid.
Vasili admits that the changes in the management staff during the period 2021-2024 have brought problems in court costs as a result of the dismissal of employees. According to the letter submitted to the Ministry of Finance, since July last year, 326,823,152 Lek have been spent on court cases, the trials have been won by former employees who have had an accident at work or been fired from their jobs.
The director of RTSH asks for an additional budget, to use it for 'film and artistic productions of international importance', 'RTSH Symphony Orchestra and Cinematography', 'technical projects for the introduction of new technologies'.
However, it warns that it will first require a full audit of the structure and projects of RTSH, to understand where public funds have ended up.
