From next year, the government will bring back sports betting, online, by licensing a number of companies that will offer this service.

The Ministry of Finance has completed the draft law, which will be published next week for approval. The Deputy Minister of Finance Vasilika Vjero, invited to the E-ZONE show, explained the tax rate that has been proposed for this sector.

"It is thought that there will be several companies that will offer this process. They will be licensed, while we are looking at the criteria they must meet and have not decided yet. We are looking at the possibility that they can be incorporated into the casinos operating in the country. As for the tax rate, we have proposed that it be 25% of the gross income from the game", said Vjero.
In the next year's draft budget, the government has predicted that it will collect 2 billion ALL from online betting, but it is not yet known how this figure was calculated as long as this market is completely informal today.
