Prime Minister Edi Rama exercised his right to vote this morning, just before 11:00, at the Surrel polling center. Accompanied by his wife, Linda Rama, the head of government was received with interest by the media and residents of the area.

After casting his vote, Rama paused for a few moments to greet and take photos with citizens present outside the polling station. He briefly told Albanian media: "Let's wait and see what the people have to say."

For international media, the prime minister gave another symbolic statement: "We are doing everything to make Albania the next country to join the EU."
