Eight months after the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime sentenced Talo Çela to 18 years in prison in absentia for the 2019 robbery case in Rinas, the decision has become final.
This is because any deadline for filing an objection in the Special Appeal has passed.
Regarding the file, there was no appeal from the defense and the defendant himself, Talo Çela, who has been on the run for several years.
Talo Çela was found guilty on November 21, 2024 by the GJKKO, for the robbery of 4.5 million euros at Rinas International Airport in April 2019, an event in which the main organizer Admir Murataj was killed. Çela was tried separately from the other defendants

The gang's number two, Klement Çala, will remain behind bars for 20 years, while the six others arrested for the robbery: Oltion Veseli, Renaldo Sulaj, Saimir Cela, Oltion Pikli, Alkon Bengasi and Eldi Çala, were sentenced to 17 years in prison each.
There is no information about the much-wanted Talo Çela. He has been missing since 2023, when his lawyer, Luan Kaloçi, stated before the Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime that he has no contact with his client and that the power of attorney for representation had been signed by his brother before he was killed.
In the disclosure of communications on Sky Ecc, of the Special Prosecution, Talo Çela stated that if evidence of Rinas' robbery were to emerge, he would go to live in Brazil where he would assume a new identity.
