The Association of Nurses of Albania has strongly reacted to the arrest of doctor Fitim Marku at the Trauma hospital, after he was caught red-handed taking bribes. According to the association, it was provocation by a police officer that led to the doctor's arrest.

"The Association of Nurses of Albania condemns any case of abuse where the medical staff makes bargains or asks for bribes to provide the service, but it is more reprehensible any kind of provocative form of the case including family patients or in this particular case an infiltrated police officer"- said in response.

Reprehensible and shameful, according to the association, is also the reaction of the hospital itself, which does not condemn the event and tarnishing the image and work of the doctor and medical staff, but supports such forms of treatment by the white-shirted state.

"As if the mass departure of doctors and nurses wasn't enough, we also need such events of treating these heroes as criminals that one case is enough for everyone to throw mud at them.

It is certain that in this form you feed other departures of white shirts because if the health system is in this state, it is not the fault of the doctors and nurses but the fault of the Ministry of Health, the mismanagement of funds for Health and hospitals, that is, of the state itself "- is underlined in the notice.

According to them, the lack of working conditions, the lack of personnel, the many lacks of various services, the low salaries and the poor evaluation of the health personnel lead to such events.

The Association of Nurses calls on the relevant institutions not to make such provocations against the white blouses, but when there are such events, they should be verified and clarified, and then come out in statements and decisions.

The association calls on all SUT staff to support their colleagues in such events and not remain silent.

"If such provocations are made, you can be sure that there will not be a doctor, nurse, sanitary policeman left without being arrested and each of us when he has received service in one form or another, the only way we know is to thank the white shirts it is through the giving of a sum of money where they are not to blame but all of us who nurture this form of gratitude towards them" - concludes the association's response.
